BREAKDOWN:

1. "Twin Sparks" Short Film

Twin Sparks is Heather Yun and I's SVA senior thesis film set to come out in Spring 2023! I've always been inspired by stylized 3D, and am super excited show off all I've learned about the medium in this film! I'm responsible for the shading, lighting, FX, and compositing in this shot, which was done in a combination of Houdini, Blender, and Nuke. Animation is done by my thesis partner Heather. 2. Matte Painting Photoshop Elements

This was a setup I created in Nuke in order to hide render mistakes in my thesis film, Twin Sparks, as well as further the painted look of the film. 2D painted elements were drawn in Photoshop over a still of the shot, and then set up in 3D to ensure they tracked correctly with camera movement.

3. Using Kuwahara Filter as Depth of Field

This is another setup I created in Nuke for my thesis film, Twin Sparks, to further push the painted look of the film. It utilizes the ZDepth AOV pass to blur the background using the Kuwahara filter, a filter that makes things look more painted and blended organically, rather than using a straight blur for depth of field.

4. Hologram City

This is a digital matte painting composited over footage, turning a regular view of Manhattan into a sci-fi city. All elements are original and were created in Photoshop and After Effects, before being composited in Nuke.

5. Sci-fi Lab

A digital matte painting, with all elements created in Photoshop and After Effects, before being composited in Nuke.

6. Bootybot

Created during my Pixar Undergraduate Program internship, where I learned how to pipe AOVs through their shading software into Nuke, and also created a custom halftone shader in Nuke.
